Mr. Sconyers has over 29 years of experience primarily in real estate. Mr. Sconyers has managed Siete Leguas’ real estate projects for over ten years. At Siete Leguas, Mr. Sconyers is responsible for investments and acquisitions in North and South America. In 2018, he led the acquisition of Aalfs Manufacturing, the largest denim products producer in the western hemisphere. This included the restructuring of over $100 million in company debt and other obligations. Over three years, Mr. Sconyers restructured the portfolio of both Siete Leguas and Aalfs Manufacturing properties in four countries consolidating distribution and manufacturing facilities. In 2016, Mr. Sconyers was asked to diversify investments in Real Estate throughout the United States. Since that year, the company has made investments in student housing in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Texas, and traditional multifamily investments in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Florida and Mobile, Alabama. The company has exited each of these investments, totaling more than $375 million. Mr. Sconyers responsibilities with this portfolio included asset selection, debt management, property management and final property liquidation. Mr. Sconyers biggest accomplishment throughout this period was working out issues caused by the Covid 19 shutdown. During a period of closed plants and properties, Mr. Sconyers solved issues that continuously impacted the company. During this time, he managed to negotiate long term solutions to debt, payroll, supply, and management issues. At no time were any debts or any obligations in default.
Prior to Siete Leguas, Mr. Sconyers worked as Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategy with Brahm Capital Corporation where he was charged with restructuring companies following investments and acquisitions. He gained considerable experience with both government and corporate debt with projects in Mexico, Spain, South Africa, India, and the United States. Mr. Sconyers began his career with Morgan Stanley, and later with UBS Warburg.
